The AA Ranch first got its name in late 1998 when frequent guests began referring to our Ben Lomond home as such.  "Ranching" became a favorite weekend activity and the "AA" is rumored to stand for Anonymous Alcoholics.  As the years went by and more people questioned the name, some said the "AA" came from both Mark and Geoff's middle names - Allen.  The name stuck and now everyone knows what the AA Ranch references - a good time for all.

The AA Ranch & Resort is located in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains in Ben Lomond, California.  The area consists of beaches, dense redwood forests, high chaparral, and grassy fields.  Surprisingly, this area is home to scorpions, rattlesnake, bats and if you're lucky, you might still get a glimpse of a few hippies, though they are an endangered species.

The World66 Travel Guide describes Ben Lomond as "warm and inviting" community with "gorgeous redwood trees all around."  The town was founded by a Scottish immigrant who missed his homeland in the 1800's and a nearby reservoir is named after him called Loch Lomond.  So far, no Ben Lomond Loch-ness Monster has been sighted!

The AA Ranch is located just outside the town limits and was established in 1998.  Boasting three bars, Charlie the Club Car Games, and the Tiki Pool Village, it is arguably one of the finest and culturally important resorts in all of Ben Lomond!  One recent guest noted, "When you arrive and see the redwoods mix with the palms, you're not sure if you've entered paradise or just continuing a bad trip."  The guest has not been seen since.
